Call in PLASCON or DULUX or an independent specifier if necessary
Draw up a production schedule that accommodates the clients needs
Put a quality plan into place, that allows the client, The Coating Worx, PLASCON or DULUX and an independent quality assurance company to sign off at every stage.
Submit a safety plan if necessary and appoint a safety officer.
Conduct the production according to specification and allow the client full access to every stage of the contract.

All painting projects need to be assessed in terms of the painting requirements and damp problems. All managers have state of the art damp metres and are well trained in damp-proofing solutions.

We use SIKA and SAFEGUARD products, which are not only represented in South Africa on a national basis, but in over 60 countries around the world. SAFEGUARD and SIKA technical representatives are always available to visit sites for specifications as well as on site visits, during a project.

Various products are used, depending if either lateral or rising damp has been identified.

Concrete Protection and Repair

The most prevalent problem on buildings is spalling, which results from corrosion of re-enforced steel exposed to oxygen and moisture. In these cases, the problem area must be mechanically removed back to sound sub-strata, the steel treated for corrosion and concrete repairs must be done with low shrinkage concrete repair mortar.

Usually concrete repairs will be an ongoing maintenance item, due to inherent problems already in the concrete or plaster on the building.

Roof coatings

All Branches have the latest GRACO airless spray guns and roofs are tackled using wet film gauges, to ensure correct dry film thicknesses.

Prior to painting, all surfaces are hydroblasted with Karcher high pressure cleaners, to ensure correct preparation procedures are followed.

Before painting commences, repairs and specifically waterproofing problems are attended to, using Sika waterproofing products. On tiled roofs, concrete ridges are repaired, using concrete repair mortars. On Galvanized roofs, special attention is given to loose bolts and bent sidelaps.

Safety is always an issue with roofs and all workers are equipped with safety lines and harnesses, if required.

High Pressure Cleaning

All Branches are equipped with state of the art high pressure cleaners from Karcher. These high pressure machines run with a rotating nozzle, giving the best cleaning solutions, at 2500psi.

All exterior preparation on buildings is first done using hydroblasting techniques, as well as general cleaning. High pressure cleaning is also ideal for cleaning of roofs and driveways.

Project Management Services

Often a client needs more that just painting or damp-proofing done on a building. We offer the service of a full turnkey operation, outsourcing subcontractors where necessary.

We can use the clients subcontractors or make use of one of our approved suppliers. This service can often aliviate time constraints that a client may have and in special circumstances, we can even honour a guarantee from a third party.

Financial Services for Body Corporates

As a service to our body corporate clients, we offer the service of aquiring up to 100% loan for painting projects, without the need of the trustees signing surityships. We use ABSA bank, who offer loans up to five years, with an interest rate of 2% above prime, floating.

ABSA loan requirements;

All that is required by us are audited financial statements (showing all levies paid up to 95%),
Any relevant participation quota’s,
Minutes of the meeting where a quorum was established by the body corporate,
The S.S. no. (Registration certificate of the body corporate)
And a resolution letter from the company or body corporate, accepting the submitted quote.
